Crime(s): Indecent Exposure
Agency: Orange County Sheriff’s Department
During 2005
to 2008, women in Orange County, CA, were victimized by a naked suspect who approached them in public places. There were many
reports of his sightings, and the victims' screams reportedly scared him away. He became known as "The Orange County Flasher."
The suspect was arrested by Tustin Police in 2008, after being seen naked while peering through a woman’s apartment window.
The suspect was charged with over 100 counts of indecent exposure, and most cases took place within a few miles of his home, where
he had a wife and children. A criminal history check revealed a prior conviction for indecent exposure.
The suspect's
acquaintances said that in recent months before his arrest, his personal appearance became unkempt; and, he no longer wore his hair
combed back daily. The suspect had also gained weight during the two years after SketchCop Michael Streed produced the suspect's
sketch.
