The depicted suspect
was first seen on video leading an 11 year-old schoolgirl into an alley where he raped her. Later, he approached another girl,
walking to school, and offered her $100 dollars to commit a sex act with him. She was able to run away and later led police
to a paper cup he discarded. Using that, they matched the DNA to the first rape case.
A couple of months later, an officer
on a routine vandalism call encountered Murphy and noticed he resembled the composite sketch of the child rapist. Murphy was
arrested and his DNA was matched to the two previous cases.
